Skydive for charity

A skydive might be something you’ve had on your bucket list for a while. When people decide it’s finally time to take the jump, they often choose to raise some money for charity at the same time.

At Skyline Skydiving, you can choose to either pay for your jump yourself, with costs ranging from £270 to £340 depending on the drop zone you want to jump from. Or, many choose to jump for a charity instead. This means your skydive won’t cost you a penny as long as you raise a minimum set amount for that cause. That’s right, by fundraising for a charity of your choice, you get to skydive completely for free!

How much do I need to fundraise?

The funds you will need to raise depend on the drop zone you choose to jump from, but in most cases, the minimum amount you need to fundraise is £395. Some drop zones require a minimum amount of £450.

How does the fundraising work?

The charity sponsorship scheme in place means that rather than paying the money upfront, you can get your skydive booked in first of all – then you can start raising the funds for your skydive through an online fundraising page or simply through cash donations. Just be aware that most of the charities we work with will require a small booking deposit when you reserve your spot.
Or, if you plan to receive the donations once you have completed your skydive, you can choose to pay on the day then reimburse yourself with the donations you collect afterwards.

What charities can I fundraise for?

At Skyline Skydiving, we work with over 3,000 charities, nationwide. These charities cover a huge range of causes, so there will almost certainly be a charity you can choose to jump for that supports a cause that’s meaningful for you or your family.

If you have a particular charity in mind that you don’t see on our list, you can get in touch with us at info@skylineevents.co.uk. We can’t promise anything, but we’ll see if we can reach an agreement with that cause.

Will I need to cover any costs myself?

No! As long as you reach the set minimum fundraising amount, it means you get to jump completely for free. That set amount of £395 (or £450) goes to the charity of your choice. They cover the costs associated with your skydive and are then able to take the rest of the funds raised as a generous donation for the cause they’re supporting. Don’t forget, once minimum sponsorship is raised you are also eligible to reimburse yourself for your deposit through offline donations you have collected.

Just so you’re aware, the minimum fundraise amount does not cover any additional costs that might apply to the drop zone you choose. These might be costs around additional weight limits for example. Or, you might want to purchase some photographs or a video of your skydive yourself as a souvenir of the experience.
